Richmond-based AI startup WriteHuman is excited to announce its newest venture: joining Lighthouse Labs, a nationally recognized accelerator program. This partnership marks a significant milestone in our journey to innovate and disrupt the AI industry. As we embark on this collaborative path, we are thrilled to leverage Lighthouse Labs' extensive network, resources, and mentorship to accelerate our growth and bring groundbreaking AI solutions to the forefront of technology.
Lighthouse Labs, a leader in accelerating startup innovation, has proudly announced the selection of eight diverse startups for its Spring 2024 Accelerator program. This rigorous selection, highlighting Lighthouse Labs' dedication to founder-centric approaches since 2012, showcases its commitment to nurturing cutting-edge ideas and disruptive technologies. Among the chosen startups, most have strong Virginia roots, reflecting the program's focus on regional innovation. The chosen startups, emerging from a highly competitive pool of over 250 companies, represent a mix of industries, each bringing unique solutions and a fervor for industry disruption. With an acceptance rate of only 3%, Lighthouse Labs continues to uphold its reputation as a beacon for transformative startup growth.

In addition to WriteHuman, seven other companies were selected to participate in the program:
InfraSGA (Norfolk, VA | founders Timothy Stromberg, Sean Garrigan, Michael Stromberg & Borden Edgerton, PLA). InfraSGA was created to develop and manufacture innovative and patentable product solutions surrounding green infrastructure. The company’s debut product, RAFT, intercepts stormwater runoff in limited-space, urban environments where retrofits are difficult.
3D Orthobiologic Solutions (3DOS) (Herndon, VA | R. Prakash Kolli, Ph.D., P.E., Benjamin Holmes). 3DOS develops custom, biodegradable, 3-D printed implant scaffolds to guide bone growth for oral and maxillofacial defect reconstruction.
Nightingale Caring Solutions (Philadelphia, PA | Colin Plover PhD, MPH, MSN, MSEd, RN). Nightingale provides nurses in hospitals with a software interface and algorithms to help better staff and match nurses with patients for better outcomes. Nightingale's software saves time, increases efficiency, and drives better, evidence-based outcomes.
BILLIONS (Alexandria, VA | Andrew Becker, Amber Milks). BILLIONS is a SaaS PropTech company providing real estate agents and teams with an out-of-the-box, ready-to-use platform that improves operational efficiencies and maximize company profits.
WriteHuman (Midlothian, VA | Ivan Jackson). WriteHuman is an AI writing tool that allows users to paste in AI-generated text, rewriting it to bypass AI writing detectors. The humanizer is designed for professionals and content creators who use AI writing at scale to give their content a more human touch, greatly enhancing reader engagement.
Mindflow (Nashville, TN | Anthony Faraino, Caleb Scott). Mindflow supports the mental health needs of student-athletes, coaches, and athletic departments through mental health training and consultation and one-on-one services addressing both general mental health concerns and mental performance needs.
KnoNap (Arlington, VA | Danya Sherman). KnoNap empowers, educates, and advocates against drug facilitated sexual assault and crime through beverage drug test kits and educational resources. KnoNap created Knope, a discreet, portable, gender-inclusive diagnostic capable upon drink saturation of detecting 12 drugs of abuse.
Phalanx (Arlington, VA | Austin Garrett, Ian Y. Garrett, Carl M. Kenney). Phalanx is a lightweight Data Loss Prevention and document mapping solution that secures document access by combining automation, identity, and encryption. It transforms existing workspaces into secure systems to provide CISOs cyber risk intelligence of sensitive documents and automated security to mitigate risk.
All companies will receive $20,000 in equity-free funding, participate in weekly educational programming, get mentorship from Lighthouse’s extensive mentor network, and connect directly with local partners and investors. The Spring 2024 accelerator program kicks off on March 4.
